Paul's 316th Dream

lyrics

Time is caught in a seashell-box
And everyone around is asleep
You can’t go far if you say goodnight
To everyone you meet
I know by now that I knew by then
My monkey lost her face in the crowd
Her tail is cut and her feet are burned
But still she makes me proud

All those crimes and all those times
We couldn’t get away
With all those lies and no supplies
They make and break it everyday

I don’t think heaven is far from hell
My devil is a cynical clown
I can’t escape from this railroad tent
Because my horse is brown
It took a while for my flag to fly
But then a breeze of wind was pushing the sail
And though it took me up to her window ledge
I was about to fail

All those crimes and all those times
We couldn’t get away
With all those lies and no supplies
They make and break it everyday

My world got hit by a cannonball
My ship’s about to sink to the ground
The sea is rough and I’m far from land
No we won’t be found
The first one was a banana split
The last one; a kiss on the cheek
I don’t expect you to understand
But still it makes me weak

All those crimes and all those times
We couldn’t get away
With all those lies and no supplies
They make and break it everyday
